Car jerking at full throttle and knocking later on

Post by Allen0019 »

knock.kdl
89 octane.kal
- 2005 Honda Civic Si (U.S.) K20a3 and 5 speed
- Version 3.3.1.0
- ECU part no. 37820-PND-A01)
- KManager version 3.3.1
- Mods are K&N 69 series SRI, and EMUSA 2.5" catback exhaust. Other than that, completely stock.
- I got the K-Pro from K-Tuned about a week ago with a used ECU
- a specific description of the problem:

I was putting in calibrations on my k-pro that I just got, and it is running horrible. I have an EP3 Si with a K20a3 & 5 speed, and the ECU is from a base model RSX (I am in North America). The A/F will jump up to around 32:1 even with the protection on, and work its way back down to normal again... Then after that, it will start knocking really bad. I have tried 2 different kals, and they are doing the exact same thing. I tried 89 octane tuned, and a factory kal. There is 87 octane in the tank. I am not getting any error codes or anything, but for now I have the K-Pro'd ECU out of the car until I can figure out a solution.

Have you contacted K-Tuned about your calibration or getting a base calibration that may work better with your setup?

No not yet. I am going to try to clean out that thing that controls the idle under the throttle body. A good friend of mine told to try that and see if it works because he had a similar issue. If cleaning it, and/or replacing that piece doesn't work, then I'll contact k-tuned about the kal if that fails.
