OBD0 to OBD1 issues

Post by Ralph Spencer »

I'm upgrading from OBD0 to OBD1 so I can use the S200.
My current setup is;
90 DX Civic Hatch, B16a swap, YS1 cable tran. PR3 ECU OBD0.

I just ordered my S200 and I have a P30-010 JDM
ECU and a OBD1 conversion harness to use with it.
I'm Upgrading the VSS to electric, and the dizzy to an OBD1.

My 4th gen car doesn't have an electric load sensor or a
barometric pressure sensor can anyone give me some guidance
on what to do to get these signals to the P30-010 ECU.

Thanks for the interest.
Ralph

P.S. Does anyone know of any other issues I may face with this
upgrade.

You can disable both the ELD and the Barometric presure sensor when you program your s200.

What are you going to do for a speedometer, if you convert from a cable to electric VSS your speedometer won't work. OBD0 cars went cable to the gaugecluster then electric from the gaugecluster to the ECU so you don't need to worry about you P30 JDM not getting a VSS signal.

You need to use a 4 wire O2 sensor with the P30, your current PR3 should be using two 1 wire O2 sensors.

If you haven't gotten a dizzy yet I would suggest one from a GSR they bolt on to the b16a head with all 3 legs and are a little better quality than other Honda distributors.

Thanks for the response shinociv.
Your answers were what I was hoping to hear about the
ELB and the Atmosperic pressure signals.

I am going to use the PLX 250 or 300 wideband O2 sensor,
in place of the 2 single wire O2s I have in the header now.

SPEEDOMETER???? WHATS THAT DO?????
We don't need no stinking speedometers

As far as the speedometer cluster, I am hoping to convert the cluster to
a GSR cluster, or maybe even a CRV cluster.
Heres the instructions for doing that.
