S200 install on 96 integra GSR

Post by misterdude »

on the applications chart for the S200 it lists the P72 ECU - The 96 integra GSR has P72 ECU can it be socketed and used with the chip or is it different? the 96 is OBD2 so do I need a P72 from a 94 or 95 GSR?
or are they the same? its confusing when the number is the same.
will the JDM ECU's work on a US car same as a US ECU?

You will need an OBD-1 ECU. Some ECU's [the P75 for example] came in OBD-1 and OBD-2 cars. The OBD-2 ECU's cannot be used with Hondata.

the jdm unit is your best bet since the iabs have the correct polarity for usdm obdII cars.

best JDM ECU?

Post by misterdude »

it looks like the best JDM ECU to use would be the P72J because it has VTEC IAB and KNOCK ?? AM I CORRECT?

If I send you a virgin US P28 can you make it work with the IAB VTEC KNOCK and be hondata compatable? or better yet just tell me what I need to do to get it all working right, cus I can socket it and I will need to add my OBD2 to OBD1 conversion board anyway.
my other P28 took a crap and it was converted by hondata.
I hate that bad Idle crap that it has when its cold thats cus the IAB polarity is wrong or not even working right?

adding knock requires a knock board... unless you have a spare board your best bet is to start with a p30/72 ecu.

adding iab is easy for us though. iab does not effect idle stability in any instance i've seen. and the p28 already has vtec.

give us a call this week and we can set you up.
