Service Connector Switch

Post by PFITR »

Hi all,

I've made a post regarding this issue a few days ago, but I cannot find it anymore, so I'm posting again...

If it got deleted by admin, please don't do it again without letting me know why.

So, my question it's how to properly connect a SCS to S300.
I have a Honda Integra Type-R 1998 with turbo application and S300.
I did a connection from S300 D4 to ground, with a switch in the middle.
When this circuit closes, I can see SCS turning ON in Smanager, and that's ok. What I find odd is that MIL (engine check light) also goes on in Smanager and also at the car panel. If I switch it off, both SCS and MIL turn OFF.

I'd like to know why MIL turns ON when SCS it's ON, and what can I do to prevent this behavior, or if there's something wrong with my wiring.

Thanks,
Paulo,
Lisbon - Portugal.

IT has to do with how the light is wired. Unless you remove the bulb it will always come on when the SCS is grounded.

In SManager, the MIL sensor also turns ON when SCS is grounded.
If the CEL light wiring was somehow independent from S300, it would light up with MIL OFF, but it only lights up when MIL goes ON, so I think it's a behavior induced by S300.

Could you explain this to me?

Thanks,
Paulo.
