Acura RDX overboost code

Post by hypnotini »

Modifications are cpe intake and flashpro.

Seems like my ecu has a "if boost > X then throw code" fault going on, I am looking to see if there is a way around this.

were not running max duty cycle and getting just a bit over 14psi tops with the flashpro and map settings for target are set high enough to read more psi then that.

Let me know if there is any specific information that would diagnose this.

I am including a datalog attachment.

a copy of your tune would help. your data seems normal to me but I could very well have missed a few things.

Are you getting a drivetrain protection fuel cut? Does this occur when in sport shift mode only? It is a two cycle error (it will show pending after the first time), so might be hard to track down to the point when it is occurring.

it doesn't feel like a fuel cut, its pulling pretty hard. I will get some logs in D mode on wednessday and see if it pops up again. its not tripping any check engine lights so far except one time a while back but after clearing that and adjusting tune it just pops up on the datalog. I have other data logs where it is popping up also.

I did get a pop in my exhaust once also, trying to think outside the box if I damaged the cat and maybe its messing with the knock sensor, I am unsure seeing as many other rdx guys are getting 15-17 psi with no codes :-\.

I am stumped atm.

@Hondata

I can reduce the boost targets, and the error goes away, but then we're left with an RDX running basically stock boost... kind of shitty.

It is a boost cut, but the Honda code is very complicated. It looks at both the turbocharger pressure and manifold pressure sensors, there are multiple compensations for throttle position, air temperature & rpm. I can expose the rpm vs map table but the turbocharger table is more difficult. Or I could just expose the minimum ect or rpm value, so effectively the overboost test would be disabled. Would that be ok?
