Hello,
I just bought a prb a06 ecu with kpro v3 installed in it from a private seller.
I uploaded a k20a2 with cai base map from the included calibrations and while initially impressed with the change in behavior of the motor I am concerned that it is not running safely.
Coming from what I assume is an untouched oem prb ecu from canada to the kpro prb with above mentioned base map. The calibration changed the way the motor sounds and how the exhaust sounds and it just doesnt seem like its as deep breathing/or exhaling as the stock oem ecu, no doubt faster but this can be attributed to the change in the vtec window.
So getting to my main question now is whether or not I could install the kpro daughterboard in my stock oem ecu? I mean it is not a matter of whether or not I could physically but of whether or not the kpro is mated with the serial number etc of the ecu its in presently.
You might wonder why I want to do this, well its because I want a stock oem base map to work with.

Re: kpro daughterboard swap
The KPro board can be swapped between ECUs, but I don't think this is the solution to your problem. It just sounds like the calibration needs further tuning.

Re: kpro daughterboard swap
I agree its alot of work, and thanks for telling me, but since im new at tuning I would really like to compare the original oem calibration to what I have. I could not find an untouched k20a2 calibration and I am concerned about uploading a calibration that would hurt the motor. Maybe I was just hearing things but while driving last night I thought I could hear this metal to metal noise like a drill bit into metal.. I would hope the calibration I uploaded did not change the timing so drastically that something is happening in the motor to make that noise. Would there be another way to pull the ecu map from my original ecu without putting kpro in it?
For reference, the motor and ecu is a canadian based 2003 k20a2 type s that ive swapped into a 2002 civic dx usdm. I dont know what minor differences there there are between the cdm rsx-s motor and the usdm model, it was just such a night and day difference between the stock ecu and the kpro.

Re: kpro daughterboard swap
Without starting a new thread,
I calibrated my tps in kpro and when the high speed cam vtec engages at 5800 rpm the mil turns on and the code is for tps circuit high, I cut ignition and restarted and mil went away. ??

Re: kpro daughterboard swap
Have you calibrated the TPS?
Re: kpro daughterboard swap
Yes, I had a ktuned billet v2 tps, its faulty and I am now using a cheapo ebay tps, works better, no codes, but still getting some stalling/hesitation randomly.
Will be getting a hall effect soon.
