So, i've recently discovered that my Boost by gear doesnt seem to be working properly. So I'm trying to test my AEM boost control solenoid.
Details:
S300, Turbo B series, AEM boost solenoid wired through A11
On recent datalogs, the car is NOT making any extra boost, but the datalogs are showing the ECU is modulating the PWM output as I would expect. I understand that it might not be enough duty cycle to make more boost... so I decided to start troubleshooting
SO I decided to test the solenoid while the car is stationary.
1. Turned key on
2. Connected laptop
3. Launched SManager
4. Downloaded from ECU
5. Selected "Realtime Update"
6. Went to boost control tab, set activation to 0, -1 few different values. It wouldnt let me set any negative PSI value for activation point.. it kept setting it to 920 psi when I tried a negative value.
7. Set boost option to fixed duty cycle
8 Tested several different values ( I hate how the cursor just flashes
once you make a change)
9. No noise what so ever from the solenoid.
The PWM output was also not dynamically changing as I would change the value in the parameters section. I would have expected the value to dynamically change as I was changing in the software (in Realtime mode). It did change one time (as illustrated by the testing_boost log), but I made several different changes and it wasnt changing in my display or sensor window.
I've attached two datalogs, one that says "boost" from a street datalog (showing PWM changing). Another from just sitting in garage with key on.
Thoughts?

Use the test outputs function in the Online menu: http://www.hondata.com/help/smanager/te ... htsub=test
Re: Testing PWM output, weird results
Thank you, do I need to be in Realtime mode for this testing?
No Realtime needed... just Downloaded the calibration and went to Test Outputs.
Works like a charm... I have no issues with my solenoid!
Thanks so much
