The Device Cannot Start (Code 10)

Post by blanc0 »

So I tried hooking my flashpro up to my Surface Pro 2 tonight which I've used it on for the past few months since I've gotten it and it wont start the flashpro to recognize it. I tried two different USB cables and no luck. I then downloaded FPM on my other laptop and got it to work on there. Only thing that I could think of that would cause this problem is that I've upgraded to windows 8.1 since last time using it. My laptop still has windows 7 on it and I'm thinking its a compatibility issue with 8.1. Is there a way to get around this or something I can do to fix it? I've tried re-installing the driver numerous times only to get the same error. Restarted the Surface numerous times as well.

If it still works in other versions of windows then it is either a device driver that is not installed, or a fault in widows itself that will not allow the driver to run properly.

It's been a while but have you gotten it to work? I see this error on PC's when the driver has become corrupt or files have gone missing. Try removing the driver through device manager (Don't know if they renamed it in Win8) and reloading it.
