Injector phase with ITB

Post by b16itb »

Hi! I´m tuning a K20 with ITB. It´s pretty well tuned. But I fell like it´s has a gap between pressing the throttle (fast) and engine response.

The injectors on ITB are a few inches away from original injector location.

So I was wondering if it need to change the injector phase. Right now is set stock (383º).

Is there a way to calculate this?

Thanks in advance

All you can do is try to change it and see what effect it has.

Thanks for replying. Sorry for my english.

The manual says that in kpro the 383º is the END of the injector event.

But It´s not clear. If I change to e.g. 403º, the ending will change according to the manual, but it necessary the START is going to be 20º earlier (403 - 383)?

I don´t know if I made myself clear. Let me try again: Will it shorten the injector event by 20º (start point doesn´t change) or is going to move the injector event to start 20º earlier?

Thanks

Changing the phase value will shift the entire injector event. The duration is unchanged. eg if you go from 400 to 380 degrees, the injector opens 20 degrees sooner and also closes 20 degrees sooner.

As far as tuning it's trial and error. Try standard, then advanced, then retarded, and see what works.

So I need to lower the value to make the injector event start earlier? The base map is 383º. If I want to shift the event to start sooner I need to put e.g. 363º?

I thought I was the opposite.

Again, sorry If it´s a dumb question. English is not my first language. I have some hard time reading and trying to understand.

Thanks
