KPro USB connection / driver problem in Windows XP / 7

Post by YOYO »

Hey guys!

I'm having a problem with my KPro interfacing with the KManager. The car had been previously professionally dyno tuned on more than one occasion (the last time was a good while ago though, in 2008 to be exact). Earlier today, I tried hooking up both my laptop and my desktop pc (I also tried more than one USB cable), but both machines had issues with installing the USB driver for the hardware. I know my way around computers so I tried everything that I could think of, and I made sure to read all the online help posts that I could find. I just can't seem to get the driver installed, not even manually. The computer seems to detect that a piece of hardware is hooked up but that is pretty much it. When I access the Device Manager, it continually keeps refreshing over and over again. As well, the task manager keeps popping up the 'can't find driver window' over and over and over again. Below is my info as requested.

Vehicle - 2003 Acura RSX Type-S, K20A2

KPro serial - 05000526 (I hope that's the right one)

ECU part number - 37820-PRB-A06

KManager version - 3.3.1.0

Calibration - attached

Datalog - I can't connect to the ECU, so no go on that one.

Mods of significance - Intake, exhaust, DC race header, IPS 2K cams, dual valve springs, RBC intake manifold, 525cc fuel injectors

Where I got the KPro - It came with the car when I bought it (I think that was probably around 2007)

Problem - USB driver / connection issue

I hope that you guys can help me out with this. Let me know if you need any other information from me, or if you want me to try anything else. Thank you in advance.

Mike

Hey guys, so any suggestions? I still can't get the ECU to connect to either one of my computers. Could something possibly be wrong with the USB interface hardware? Like I said, I've already tried force installing the drivers as suggested in Help and other related forum posts, but still nothing. Device manager just keeps spazzing out and refreshing itself over and over again, but it can't actually find KPro. One of my machines does list an 'unknown device' but when I try to force install the driver manually it just says that it's not the right driver for this device.

Thanks again.
