I'm planning to swap a built K20/K24 (K20Z3 head / K24A2 block) into an 2004 S2000 and I have heard of KPro being used, which is what I would like to do since I am familar with the FlashPro software. Is getting VTC to work with this setup as simple as check marking VTC in the VTEC options of KManager?
Also I have questions about the sensors to be used. My K20/K24 is coming out of a 2007 Civic Si, which some sensors are different than those in a RSX. Will all my 2007 Si sensors be compatible? Or do I need all sensors from a 2006 RSX? Will the wiring harness that comes with the S2000 KPro have the inputs/outputs for connecting to VTC sensors?
Love your products, Thanks!

Re: K24 S2000 & VTC
This is not a swap for the faint-hearted, and is not supported by Hondata.
You need the 02-04 RSX engine harness.
You will need the 02-04 RSX o2 sensor.
You will need the cable throttle body.
There is no wiring in the harness for VTC; you will need to trace the VTC outputs in the RSX ECU to the S2000 connector side and possible add jumpers inside the ECU (later adapters used E15 and E16 for VTC; early adapters had no connection). The you'll need to add the wiring from the vehicle E connector to the VTC solenoid.
The transmission needs a speed sensor output with 4 pulses per wheel revolution.
The sensors on K20Z3 engine are compatible with the 02-04 RSX, but check the crank sensor as the connector and pinout may have changed.

Re: K24 S2000 & VTC
Most likely, I will have a shop that knows hondata products well, do the wiring. I just want to make sure they have the info they need to do this. I have zero experience with KPro and some of this is going over my experience level, so bear with me haha.
Will the 02-04 RSX engine harness plug directly into a PRB A01-A12 ecu w/ s2000 KPro? If not, do I need a special adapter?
I don't have a S2000 KPro yet, so I would be ordering a new one. That would mean I would have the later adapter? Is it possible to order KPro pre-wired for the VTC outputs?
From what I have gathered, there are two sensors/actuators that are associated with iVTEC. A "VTEC Spool valve" and a "VTC Oil Control Valve". I assume we are only talking about having to wire in the "VTC Oil Control Valve"?
Thanks! Things are becoming much more clear on getting this to work.

Re: K24 S2000 & VTC
I'm still not so clear on how everything connects just yet, but apparently Rywire makes a conversion harness that connects the engine harness to the chassis harness and works with KPro.
Think my only question at this point is the transmission speed sensor w/ 4 pulses per revolution. Does the existing S2000 sensor get modified or is there a replacement sensor?

Re: K24 S2000 & VTC
Wouldn't I just select "Countershaft driven speed sensor" in KManager?
Re: K24 S2000 & VTC
The countershaft driven speed input is for the 05-06 RSX, which has a different VTC circuit on the ECU, so you'd be in some non 02-04 and not 05-06 territory.

Re: K24 S2000 & VTC
From researching this a little further, it looks like most of the issues we are talking about here would be taken care of with a rywire conversion harness specifically made for this swap and using KPro.
I'm looking at all ECU options right now. AEM seems easiest, but I would still like to use a Hondata product. Something I have started looking into is using an 06+ civic Si ecu and flashpro. I would have to convert the S2000 to DBW, but I don't think that will be an issue. Also, possibly I will have to use an 06+ S2000 cluster. My questions are probably outside of what you support, but if I see a way for this to work, I would like to go this route.
Would this be a feasible option? If so, what would I need to be done to get everything working?
Any help is appreciated!
