05-06 kpro runs very rough and RICH after install

Post by ajdrsx »

i just installed my kpro and something is not right. it runs VERY rough and VERY RICH. when the key is in the on position the cylinders fill with fuel and end up fuel locking the engine. no matter what calibration i use the engine still runs the same. when i installed the stock ecu the engine runs absolutely fine. no check engine lights either. ive been a honda tech for 10 years and i just cant figure this one out. both the green and red led lights show the kpro is working properly. it sounds like a subaru sti honestly. also i was only able to take data logs while at idle due to the fact the car does not go anywhere. but what has me confused at idle my a/f fluctuates from 14-14.8. im thinking i have a bad unit. please help.

You need to post the calibration that you have uploaded to the ECU. You do it the same way you posted the datalog.

Describe step by step how you are uploading the calibration to the ECU?

i go to new calibration. choose the us rsx type s. i then click on the k20z1-rsx-2006.kal. 2006 k20Z RSX with cold air intake-dyno tuned. from there i click ok. then i click on the up arrow to upload. the ecu clicks and both led stay solid. when its done i hear another click and green led stays lit and red goes back to flashing. from there i do mu TP read. enable mil when knock detected. and set my lean protection. then i upload the parameters.

Did you change your oxygen sensor to an 02-04 RSX sensor?

Also I know it's accepting the calibration because I set my launch control at 3500rpm and when I rev it the launch control works

Your injector opening times and duty cycles does not indicate that you are running rich enough to flood the cylinders. Your battery voltage is fluctuating quite a bit as well. Make sure that all the injectors are pulsing, as one could be stuck open. If this is the case you should probably try to get your money back as the ECU is damaged and will have to be replaced.

how much would it cost for a new ecu and for your company to switch the kpro board over?

And also a price if I were to supply the ecu? I started the car and unplugged the injectors one by one, 2 3 4 injectors make a difference when unplugged. but injector in cylinder 1 makes no difference when I unplug it, I agree with you on a faulty ecu, unfortanetley I'm not getting my money back so I will pay whatever the cost is to repair this one. I can supply the ecu
