Reading fault code on S300

Post by jack1463 »

Hi everyone,

I am new to ECU tuning, I have just bought a car with a Hondata s300 installed on it. It has been tuned and work fine, however, the engine light turned on recently and therefore I would like to use smanager to check if the fault code of the engine, I have got a few basic questions:

1> Should I just install Smanager, plug the ECU to my laptop and then turn on the ignition, the driver will the install automatically to my laptop? After my ECU status has stated to be "online", does't that mean I can see the fault code (if any)?

2> As my ECU has been tuned before, I dont want to lost all the current setting, will the calibration file somehow be overwrite automatically by the basic calibration file when I first connect the ECU to SManager?

Sorry that my question might be stupid but I am so fresh on this.

You must do what you said, but you must click on the datalog button to begin datalogging and then you can read the code. Nothing will be changed by datalogging, just do not load a calibration and uplopad to tthe ECU.
