edelbrock im

hondata s300
hondata boost controller
using a regular usb cable with ferite beads at both ends looped in the beads
Car ran good last drags about 2 weeks ago, but would boost cut later during the day due to air temps. Set the intake air temp comp to all zeros. Uploaded the map and went for some passes this past sunday. car would burnout, go 1st,2nd, then would cut in 3rd and 4th. hooked up the laptop to see. reset the ecu by uploading a new map shuting it down then re open it and uploaded the race map. car did the same thing. after a few tries car did a full pass. but on the return lane, tried to open up second gear and car would cut. it cut at 5300-5400 and 4psi. i dont have that datalog but i sent 2 different ones. it seams like when u let off pass 50% throttle the car cuts off. boost cut is at 26psi, which was never reached. i tested the map sensor with a multimeter and all checked out fine. any help would be great. thanks

Re: turbo gsr fully cut off
From Help, About, what version of software are you using?
Re: turbo gsr fully cut off
the newest version. 2.2.7.0
Re: turbo gsr fully cut off
Try closing Smanager completely and then reuploading your calibration. You may have had a partial upload.
Re: turbo gsr fully cut off
I tried to do that a few times. still didnt change. i uploaded a stock map from the calibration list, closed smanager, turned off car. turned on car opened smanager, uploaded race map. car did the same thing. i had a problem before but i was using a 6 foot cable. after talking to hondata i used a 3 foot cable and put 1 ferite bead at each end and looped the wire. i did the reset they told me to and it worked that time and car ran good. but not this time.
Re: turbo gsr fully cut off
Try turning off on-board datalogging. I also saw a MIL even though there were no error codes listed in the datalog.
Re: turbo gsr fully cut off
yes the mil was always on, even when tuning. checked it and no codes. even tried jumping the service port also and still no codes. should my laptop be pluged in charging when hooking up to the hondata? i uploaded the map at the strip so it was only running on battery.
Re: turbo gsr fully cut off
The laptop running on battery is fine. Have you tried disabling on-board datalogging?
Re: turbo gsr fully cut off
no not yet. if i do disable it and the car runs fine is it the ecu thats the problem?
Re: turbo gsr fully cut off
Lets see what happens first when you disable the on-board datalogging.
Re: turbo gsr fully cut off
ok, so i disabled the data logging and the same thing happened. I added more grounds, rechecked tps, map, coil, igniter, main relay, all fuses, timing, cap, rotor, wires, plugs. i changed the alternator. fuel pump is ok. took it for a test drive and at 5375 rpm it cuts off. looked at the logs and the sensors said boost cut, fuel cut and ign cut. never even got to vtec. i will be trying another ecu soon and see what happens. could it be a corrupt file being uploaded to the ecu? the car was tuned on this laptop but later it caught a virus and had to be wiped clean. so i had to download the map from the ecu in order to save it to my laptop.
Re: turbo gsr fully cut off
What is the serial number of the s300?
Re: turbo gsr fully cut off
s300-5907 / p72 ecu
Re: turbo gsr fully cut off
Your calibration may be corrupt. Try starting with a new base map and import just the fuel tables and fuel trim settings into it.
You may also want to try contacting your tuner to see if they have a saved copy of the calibration you can try.
