Details, details:
'02 RSX-S, fresh rebuild with forged internals.
Cybernation turdbo kit
Motec 3 bar MAP
KManager 1.1.6
RC 550cc
I spend the afternoon dialling in the low cam maps, NA through 8 psi, good old fashioned street tuning. Get to the "40 cam" as we were calling it, and about the second reflash the wideband starts reading funky... lean at WOT for the first couple pulls, from mid-high 12's to mid 13's, then starts to dive to 11.48 (and, I surmise, below) at transition into boost. Car drove fine, exhibited no driveability problems that would indicate overly lean or rich conditions. Verified that camangle was at 40, started driving the car out of boost for a couple minutes before taking a pull, and AFRs continued to act in this manner.
Other interesting bits:
Vehicle has a new OEM wideband, approx 2-4000 miles old. Turbo kit's original installer had pulled it's wires free of the plug, and the sensor was ruined by the time I first saw the vehicle.
Vehicle has a brand new OEM KS. I logged *no* KS counts at any time, not even on VTEC engagement.
I was 30 miles from the shop/tools, so coul not verify with plug readings
I'm supposed to fiddle the car again on Monday, finish up the high cam AFRs, take a couple RoadDyno pulls, and set VTC tables and VTEC. I'm a little worried about the AFRs, and about possible KS problems. Any input is greatly appreciated.
AFRs suddenly become inconsistent.

First check you have the right spark plugs. Also plugs readings are almost worthless with platinum or iridium plugs - they should always look clean and white.
I think your problem is the o2 sensor wiring. Check the wiring, pull all the wires out of the connectors and check for damage. If necessary verify the o2 sensor readings with an external wideband.
You can post a datalog if you wish - the giveaway for a bad o2 is big short term fuel trims.
No knock readings, even at VTEC is normal. You can datalog and check for some activity on the KS if you're worried about the KS not working.

Plugs are the ones recommended by Cybercrapnation. You know, non-resistor ones.
AFRs were not spike-y when they read lean, as you see with misfires... the AFRs were a smooth curve, varied at most a 1/4 point.
When the O2 sensor wiring was damaged previously, it was the old sensor's wiring that was pulled from the plug and the harness side plug and wires were rock solid. Still, not having masterminded the r&r of this engine, I will check when I see the vehicle in the AM.
KS threshold and level both logged and varied, just no counts. I'd post log, but they are on the laptop and I'm too damn tired to get it out of the car.
Thanks for the reply, Doug. Kiss Matt for me

Heh. It's either a fistfight or drunken skirt chasing, in the trailerpark. You'd fit right in, we'd make you feel welcome.
I voice my objections, then do what I'm told. Randy is buying the correct plugs as we speak, finish tune has been rescheduled for tomorrow.
Nice work on 1.1.8, a pleasure to use.

Thought an update would be of interest.
I figure the problem was fuel pump(s) glitching as they died. Ended up having AFRs go full lean past 5K when tuning high cam.
- Now running correct plugs.
- Now running Walbro 255, with fuel system returned to stock.
- Now running Precision 880s with resistor box (hint: set injector recurve to 450, or K-Pro won't tune anything past idle. Odd. How exactly is the generic recurve set up, may I ask?)
- Everything seemed to be running peachy when I last touched the car, ran out of time before I got too far into it though.
Interesting footnote: K Manager has totally fucked XP SP2 so that it mistakes my Moates.net Ostrich as a K-series ECU (OK, OK, barring my generally high level of incompetence). I run a dual boot laptop, and do all my non K-series tuning under Win2K, so I don't particularly care... but I thought you might get a chuckle out of that.

The injector size correction is linear. With large injectors (esp low impedence) you need to add a lot more fuel around the light load / idle area. The resulting fuel curve looks more like a 'S' curve with larger injectors. The RC 650cc injectors work very well for most applications up to 450 hp, and are fairly linear.
Re-install your moates software and see if that sorts out the USB drivers.
