Re: FlashPro V1.6.2

I was letting the car idle and unscrewed the gas cap to see if there was a vacuum build up. I got a long rush of air to equalize pressure....Let the car idle for about 5 minutes and unscrewed the gas cap and it did it again....I did this 4 times.

I never knew the car did this but after reading all the posts about the evap purge problems I wanted to see if my car exhibited the same symptoms as others that use MAP/RACE tunes.

Even if these tunes were used on strictly race cars, which they aren't and everybody including hondata knows this, this condition can't be good for the fuel pump which has to work that much harder to pump fuel.

Should I be worried about longevity of the fuel pump?

I've asked this before but didn't get a response. So I'll ask again for everyone else which may also have this problem and for the ones that have it and don't know it but can this evap purge problem be fixed and made to work on map/race tunes or should I start looking to have a hybrid tune???

So I've read this whole article and can't figure out whether I have a race/hybrid/civic cal, the answer to which might help me figure out why my EVAP monitor will not complete. I've posted my tune (done by Vit) to see if you guys can figure anything out. I think it may have to do with the new version of FPManager, or FP firmware, since I had a VitTune before and the EVAP was complete, but I failed Mass emissions because the secondary O2 was disabled. Ok...So I re-enabled it, and noticed a new version available. I updated, uploaded the new cal, and now, I've done the whole readiness procedure in the manual 2-3 times, and now the EVAP wont set! Any help greatly appreciated!

Do you have a 2012+ Si? I think those only have the AFM/civic/hybrid calibrations.

Yes, it is a 2012 Si, so I shouldn't be having EVAP problems then? I understand that what you guys are describing are actual FUNCTIONAL EVAP problems (collapsed gas tanks? Damn!), where as mine is more of a software-related thing (readiness monitors not setting). Nevertheless, every time I check with FlashPro, or go to the inspection station, EVAP says "not ready", yet "this cycle" is set. Can anybody explain exactly what "this cycle" means? I cannot find anything more than a mention of it being there in the FP Manager manual.

Really? Hondata can't chime in here to at least tell me what the "this cycle" datapoint is? I know multiple other people running the latest hondata tunes have been having issues with EVAP and catalyst monitoring (I know SleepingPanda and his 9th gen are having this issue). Anybody??

This will be corrected in the next release of software. It is just an error in the order it is reporting the test results.

So if I'm understanding this right, "ready" saying no and "this cycle" saying yes actually means it IS ready? Because the emissions readiness tab is counting that as not ready in its "not ready" count, and here in MA (most other states too) I need no more than 1 to be "not ready". This is important because I'm coming up to my next emissions deadline and need to know when I'm ready without going to the testing station each time; they're rude, moronic, expensive and slow, we've all had to deal with these people and I'd like to keep my money out of their pockets. Thank god I can go back to stock with my setup, I feel bad for the F/I guys who don't have that option.

EDIT: Any idea when this fix is going to be released, either in beta or final?

Amen to that! That big red "R" is killing me. MA emissions laws suck, something both me and Panda know all too well. The known bug, does that just effect EVAP readiness, or "cataylst monitoring" as well? I've got a non-stock metallic cat in there (the RV6 catted exhaust), with right-angle defouler and the secondary O2 enabled (see my posted cal in this thread), yet "catalyst monitoring" is constantly saying "not ready". Is this because the secondary O2 can tell the difference?

Looks like the MAP cal EVAP problem has been fixed; went for a short drive and then opened the gas cap without any hissing noise!

This update will absolutely fix those issues. It did for me. Thanks again Doug and everyone else at Hondata.

Indeed! It's a relief to know I'm (going to be) emissions legal again, thank you!!

Out of curiosity Panda, do you have P0420 (catalyst efficiency) monitoring enabled in the "misc" section? Wondering if I have to enable that to get the catalyst monitor to complete, it would be since since I'm sure my single metal cat doesn't do nearly the scrubbing the 2x OEM ones did...
