I'm having a weird problem with my fuel injectors. I started the car today and was letting it idle b/c I haven't drive the car in a while. Everything was looking good and then out of no where the car fuel goes excessively lean or rich. Car wants to stall. I had this problem one time when I was driving when I was tuning the fuel map. I was cruising and then all of a sudden the car went 10:1 + everywhere no matter the condition. The a/f gauge read rich and the engine was stumbling all over. I was able to get a datalog of the problem at idle and was hoping someone could help me figure this out.
What's weird is that the fuel would act up and then it would go back to normal and the a/f would go back to what I was tuning for.

Re: Fuel problem at idle
Have you checked your fuel pressure when this happens?
Re: Fuel problem at idle
No, I didn't and I just read some information about checking the fuel pressure as you suggested. Maybe there is a rip in the FPR diaphragm or something. I'm using the stock regulator. I will throw a gauge on the outlet of the filter and see what it looks like. I'll let the car idle and see if the problem shows up again.
Everything worked fine the first three times I went out to street tune and datalog. Then it started when I was pulled over making adjustments to the fuel map. Thought maybe a fluke. Then it happened again the next time I drove it while I was driving. No matter what RPM/load i was at the fuel was really rich. Then, it just stopped doing it and went back to normal. The car never shut off or anything.
I will update the thread tonight with my findings with the fuel pressure gauge installed.

Re: Fuel problem at idle
I put the gauge on this evening and when I primed the pump I got 0 psi. That would explain the long cranking start I was having. Cranked the car and let it warm up. Fuel pressure stayed at 50psi. Seems like something is up with the stock regulator. I have an adjustable one I can throw on and see if it fixes it and come back with an update.
Re: Fuel problem at idle
I changed out the fuel pressure regulator and I'm now getting fuel pressure when I turn the key to on position. Cranked the car up and still had 50psi at the gauge. I have a walbro 255 fuel pump installed. I turned the pressure down to factory with the adjustable gauge and going to start over on my tune since I changed the fuel pressure. Once I load up the new base map I'll let the engine idle and see if I get the same over rich condition.
