Couple easy issues?

Post by Tomsecks »

Done some searching - couldn't find answers to what I'm hoping are easy questions - please don't kill me if I haven't found it and it's easy.

Issue 1 - voltage offset seemingly does nothing. Have a Innovate LM2 connected to D10 - have made sure S300 is set to that connection, and that the chart below it is setup to match the LM2 calibration (10 afr is 0 volts, 20 afr is 5 volts, etc). LM2 seems to be operating properly, i.e. shows a certain AFR and is putting out the corresponding voltage that it's calibrated to. Example - reads 20 AFR and puts out 5 volts. In the S300 I pull up the sensors page - the AF doesn't match, I try to use voltage offset to dial it in, seemingly makes no change. Have added a ground to the LM2 (as recomended in other posts) and have tried grounding it to the thermostat housing. Also have power for the LM2 going straight from the battery. Thoughts?

Issue 2 - RPM in tables doesn't seem to match tach. Like while driving, seems like it always is in a table RPM index that's 1 higher than I'm running. Example, engine is running 3000 RPM - while logging the table shows it's running in 3250 region. Believe I have the proper plugs/wires in the engine (NGK R plugs, with a shielded plug wire) so ruling out radio interference. Thoughts?

Have you removed the 2 resistors as it says in the instructions? http://www.hondata.com/help/smanager/wi ... ghtsub=d10

Does the RPM in the sensor list match your tach?

I had NOT removed 136 & 138 - I did read about doing so. I didn't socket this ECU - was assuming it was taken care or; also I found a photo - I'll try that.

The RPM in the sensor list seems to match the tach and differ from the tables. THANKS!

Ok - pulled the ECU out and checked - R136 and R138 are cut.

What offset settings have you used?

I tried like .1 or .2 to see if there was any change; didn't seem to be, so I tried something ridiculous like 1 & 2 and hardly saw a change.

To power the hand held unit - straight to the battery.

The analog output I have on D10
The analog ground I have tried grounding to the battery and to the thermostat housing - changing this ground made seemingly no change.

The main ground should be at the thermostat housing not at the battery.

Ok - I'll leave it on the housing, maybe get a wire wheel out and make sure it has a very good connection. Perhaps it's not getting a good ground - maybe check my ground straps on the engine too.
