vtec or not

Post by jeffyjeffracer11 »

I've got a 1993 Honda del Sol S with a boosted d16z6 swap in it. The car had a d15b7 non VTEC engine originally. I am running a p75 ecu in it now with the s300 but I'm not sure if the p75 has VTEC in it. Anyone know if the p75 has VTEC in it or not? Also even if it does have VTEC in the ecu does the car have the correct wiring to run VTEC? I did switch to the d16z6 wiring harness but I don't know if the wires go all the way to the ecu since the car had a non VTEC engine to begin with? Any input would be great thanks

The P75 is a non-vtec ECU. Someone may have modified it for VTEC. You can also run an alternateive vtiec output using the s300 that uses a relay, search the help file for details on this.

I cannot tell you about the wiring in your car. You will have to look at this and use a multimeter and a factory service manual to check.

OK would I be able to have someone switch out the s300 from the p75 to a p28 ecu out of a 1996 civic with a d16z6?

A 96 ECU is obd2. Hondata will only work in an OBD1 ECU from the list at http://www.hondata.com/ecus.html
