Part throttle knock on Reflash

Post by nothing »

Hi:

I have the 2012 Reflash loaded on my otherwise stock '12. I have noticed the car tends to knock while cruising at partial throttle (7:20 to 9:10). Can someone have a quick look at this short log and give me some insight into what might cause this? Car is pulling fuel, the throttle is more or less dead even as is the a/f. It was running on 94 at the time.

Thanks in advance.

The reflash is probably not tuned to 94 octane so the knock sensor is playing strange. Have you tried 91 or 92 octane to see?

I haven't but I will. FWIW, I haven't actually "heard" any pings.

The best thing to do is to remove timing (about 2 degrees) and see if the knock count / knock control changes. Pay attention to where the knock control increases, and remove timing at those points.

Thank you for your response. I have begun to do this but it seems that the part throttle knock is the hardest to cure.
