K20A3-Si Vs. K20A3-RSX w/mods

Post by Keshtak »

I am trying to figure out which reflash to go with for my RSX base. I have CAI, DC Race Header, exhaust, type-s tranny, and a bored TB. Would it be worth the extra money for a K20A2 (the Si) manifold, and go with the Si reflash, or if the money could be better spent. Thanks.

I SAY GO WITH A K20A2. IT MIGHT NOT BE THAT MUCH BETTER BUT YOU CAN GET MORE OVER ALL POWER.

Press this key on your keyboard until the little light on the top of the keyboard goes out, then type. Otherwise you're shouting at everyone.

Well now that that's done, what are the differences in the hp/tq numbers between these setups. Si vs. base RSX both with CAI/RH/E. Ive heard the RSX will get more torque but more top end in the Si. Is this the case?

Base RSX with CAI

Civic Si with CAI

The top lines were measured on the same dyno, both were stock engines with CAI and Hondata reflash.

The Civic Si has more below 3000 rpm, less 3500 - 5000 rpm, more above 5000 rpm (or you can view it as the Base having more power 3500-5000.

Remember the Civic has EPS, which will account for more power, especially at higher rpm, so the different might be less than it looks over 5000 rpm. Power steering uses approx 5 hp at 6500 rpm.

With the reflash in either car, is it possible to get better gains that listed on your site due to having I/RH/E, bored TB, so the reflash will take better (but not full) advantage of these mods, or is that number (more or less) set in stone?

With the KPro you probably will get an increase in power. You're probably not looking at much over the above graphs, 5 hp or so. Bored throttle body makes no difference.
