S300 p28 ecu AFR is not same has plx sm-afr gauge?

Post by neverend »

I'm having trouble getting my s300 AF display to show the same numbers as the PLX sm-afr gauge. I read around where it says I need to remove R136 and R138 if the readings aren't correct so I tried it but it still the same.

The red and black wire hooked up to my stereo harness
The Grey(D14) and white(d10) is going from the SM-AFR unit to the P28 ECU

Please check the pic below

What do I need to do to get the numbers to match up?

start by connecting the power to a switched source in the under dash fuse box. Then connect the ground to the thermostat housing. See if that resoves the issue.

I connected the red wire to the switched power on the fuse box and ran the ground wire directly through the firewall onto the thermostat housing. The results are still almost about the same. see pic here: http://flic.kr/p/fjZasu

Another note: When I grounded the ground wire to the door the readings got a little closer like 2 digits apart. Hondata was should about 12.0 and the sm-afr gauge was showing about 14.0

Have you entered the correct values in the voltage conversion table and have you also tried adjusting the voltage offset?

No, I have not. I was just going to comeback and ask if I had to do any custom settings and to inform you that im on e85 fuel.

How do I go about adding these custom values? Sorry fairly new to this. Detailed guidance would help very much. I do have the chart to enter from the plx manual.

This is on the closed loop advanced tab of Parameters.

Okay found it.

I got Voltage offset set to 1.8 volt with wideband input source d14 02

When I upload the new changes I get a error code 20 ELD. Is this normal?
This happens when I go to the Closed Loop table and change my closed loop operation to any closed loop option, but when i use open loop the error code doesn't appear. Why is this?

It is best not to use the D14 input for wideband control. Just input the wideband signal from teh wideband into D10. YOu can run full time of the wideband signal in closed loop this way.

Disable ELD in Misc Parameters

I just also noticed that when I adjust the fuel tables + or - the reading on the gauge and hondata starts to go opposite ways. Like when I increase fuel the gauge will show its running rich 13.7, but hondata will show 16.4.

How do i fix this?

Okay, going to try this now.

I disconnected d14 and only connected d10, changed closed loop operation to "closed loop - wideband input" and changed wideband input source to d10 ELD with 0 voltage offset.

Everything seems to on point now. I guess Ill just leave it like this.

Should I still to disable ELD in Misc parameters if the error doesn't pop up anymore after making change to d10?

If there is no error, then don't worry about it.
