I am using this^ page to modify an existing wiring harness (non-honda)and the sentence below is confusing to me.
Do not wire the main relay (E7) or fuel pump (E1) to 12V. This will damage the ECU. Both E1 and E7 are outputs which switch on relays by grounding the ECU output and do not like being forced to eat 12V.

Constant 12V fused "ECU" is going into the main relay coil 85 and is coming out to 86 then to E7. Is this correct? Does the coil drop the voltage enough or is this supplied from the ECU somewhere? Can you please explain.
