blowing the ECU fuse on my EP3

Post by saturn1213 »

i keep blowing my fuse on my 2004 honda civic si, it was an intermediate problem now it blows as soon as i put a fuse in, ive traced wires and cant
find any shorts but as everybody knows shorts are hard to find, when i disconect the wiring harness on the drivers side of the ecu it doesnt blow the fuse,
i do have a kpro installed in it if that helps,
if anybody can give me some hints or pointers on how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated

It will not damage another vehcile if the ECU is bad. Worst case scenario it will blow the fuse. Most likely nothing will happen as I suspect a wiring fault in your own vehicle that is causing the fuse to blow.

i dont think it would hurt the other car either, ive traced all the wires inside the engine compartment, and checked for shorts in those same wires and nothing yet

I would recommend tracing all the wires on the harness plug that when unplugged does not blow the fuse. Look in the Helms service manual or ETM for information on exactly where the wires go.

i have a factory Honda service manual and i have traced all those wires and ill try that again
but one more question, is thier any way to test a ECM with kpro added to it without trying it in another car?

Having the K-Pro connected does not change the way you would test it.
