Unfortunately, I am going back to the Race cals until you make the AFM cals reliable. Until the bugs are worked out they are UNRELIABLE.
VTEC does not engage on AFM cals seemly whenever the ECU feels like simply not running VTEC. Happened last night when tuning... thought I was crazy as it started working again after reflashing the cal again. This morning on the way to work.. no VTEC, went all the way to 8 grand with no VTEC engagement.
Ask Derek to check his email, I sent him the cals.

Re: VTEC engagement broken on Civic Si AFM cals
The stock ECU code makes some assumptions about the state of various tables, and expects the values to be within normal parameters. If you go massively outside normal bounds, like setting the WOT MAP pressures to 0, the ECU may not detect that an error exists with the data table and act accordingly.

Again, the whole point of tuning software is to tune, right? Fix the root problem. I can set the MAP WOT determination pressure to 0.05 in the "Race" cals and everything works as intended -- there is a REASON I do this, if you look at the lambda tables closely you'll see why -- it has to do with fixing shuffles/misfires with certain injectors in certain ranges.
In any case, the problem lies with the VTEC WINDOW pressure table -- I set the table to .9 and now VTEC engages as expected -- albeit this is poor behavior as I really do NOT want VTEC to engage til 1.1 bar.
I understand what you are saying about the MAP WOT tables -- if they are causing some background error condition that is affecting the processing of the VTEC WINDOW pressure table, please fix this. This works fine on the "Race" cals which STILL makes the Race cals superior to the Civic cals due to the additional tuning I can do for certain situations.

Re: VTEC engagement broken on Civic Si AFM cals
I approached the AFM cal from a different perspective (how I used to do some Race cals) and everything works as intended -- it WOULD be VERY nice if you could find the root cause and program it out of the ECU so I can do things the way my AFM cal shows and retain a proper VTEC window instead of sticking a value below 1 bar to make sure it activates -- as the VTEC window only stops working when I put a value over 1 bar.
