I have a turbo b16 in my civic.
I street/dyno tuned it myself, and have been running the car for few months with no computer issues.
Vtec has worked fine up until now.
I had to replace my distributor a couple weeks ago, but vtec still worked fine. ( despite the fact that the tach is a little jumpy)
Any how, i didn't mess with the tune, and all of the sudden it started hitting boost cut instead of vtec?
If i stayed out of it -50% throttle it would be fine until the parameters were met to engage vtec and then it was exactly like vtec, just cuts everything until you completely lift your foot off the throttle, then drives fine after that, just cant hit vtec. If i disable vtec its fine, no cut, afr's are good, everything seems fine until i re enable it. but even then sometimes it will hit vtec in 1st, and 2nd, but not 3rd?
Im super confused. I have disabled everything that has to do with cutting fuel on the computer, Im on 8psi and i turned the actual boost cut to 14psi, i look at the logs and it does not spike boost.
Thanks in advance.
Hits boost cut instead of vtec?
Re: Hits boost cut instead of vtec?
Check your grounds as it this is a common problem with bad grounds in the engine bay...especially the thermostat housing ground.
Re: Hits boost cut instead of vtec?
I have disconnected the grounds, scuffed them with sandpaper then reconnected them and it didnt make a difference.
I ended up fixing the problem though, i just changed the output wire for the vtec to the a10 pin on the ecu and it seems to work fine now?
Any reason why this made it work ?

Re: Hits boost cut instead of vtec?
Perhaps the ECU has been damaged.
