Full Throttle Shift and not using Launch control

Post by backdraft »

Hello,
I am pretty sure that I have searched and read all posts that deal with full throttle shift, but could not positively come up with the correct answer. Here is my situation:
1. Launch control is disabled
2. Clutch switch wired to the ecu's B8 PSP input
3. FTS limiter RPM set to 6000

Would FTS limiter only activate after it gets to a certain MPH? Or would it always be on even if I was not moving, had the clutch pushed in, and @ full throttle?

Thanks for the help in advance,
Scott

Full Throttle shift is always on and is activated by the clutch switch.

Thanks Spunkster for the quick reply. I just to make sure that I know exactly what you are saying: You are saying that the Full Throttle shift is always going to come on even if I am not moving?

I get that it is activated by the clutch switch, but just do not want it to come on while i am waiting at the lights on the drag strip.

Thanks,

Scott

If the clutch switch is activated it will come on no mater what speed you are going

Be careful with the FTS and clutch switch. Don't keep your foot resting on the clutch at the "freeplay" area, that will keep your FTS activated and high speeds or RPMs. It's annoying as hell. I have longs legs and I can't keep lifting my knees pass the steering wheel when drag races. I stopped using it all together. It was just too annoying. I tried adjusting the switch to no avail.

I think Spunkster hit the nail on the head with what I've been trying to say/change...

Having FTS work at any speed makes it impossible to 2 step at the staging lights at the track. There should be an arming MPH for it. There is no reason anyone would want to FTS below 20MPH. If there is, let me know.
