found some bugs....

Post by racepak »

hi guys,

i have some issues with the smanager that i didnt assume i will have when i buy hondata,

1st:
when i change the temp units from F to C in the settings menu and also in the "sensors" bar the units dosnt change in the display box,
example: it shows degrees in Celsius but it calls it FAHRENHEIT.
my normal operating temp is 89f which is actually 89c.

2nd:
in the 2d map if you change the values the astrix * in the top of the page description dosnt appear (which means you didnt make any changes). and when you close/leave the s-manager, it dosnt ask you if you want to save the changes,

3rd:
in edit/create boost tables, the changes also happen when you press the cancle button.

4th:
in edit/create boost tables when the engine is running and i want to add all fuel under boost ***% the smanages freeze and stops responding,

5th: s-manager freeze any time i hook up the car charger to the pc, I DIDNT HAD THESE ISSUES WITH CROME OR ECTUNE
please look into that

Thanks for your bug report.

1. That is how it works, otherwise the user changes to the display units will get overwritten if the sensor list is changed. Re-selecting the display widget sensor will reset the unit.

2. Fixed.

3. Fixed.

4. It wasn't frozen; it was just taking a long time. I've improved the speed when the ECU is connected and you create boost tables.

5. This is from a ground problem where there is a current flow from the ECU -> S300 -> USB -> laptop -> charger -> ground. Some vehicle chargers cause this because they offset the laptop ground from the vehicle ground, otherwise it can because the ECU ground (at the thermostat) is not as good as the charger ground.

hello

what do you mean "this is how it works" why does it shows to me F when its suppose to be C ? this wasnt mentioned anywhere when i purchased the s300's !

on which version did 2 & 3 were fixed?

my grounds are all good, i'm having this issue with several laptops and several cars, you must get it fixed, not everybody has a dyno and can use the outlet from the wall, i NEVER had this issue with the other tuning softwares!

1. Read my response again. Either right click properties and change the caption F to C, or right click and select the sensor again, which will reset the caption. Total time to correct this is about 5 seconds.

2, 3 & 4. The next beta release, which should be early next week.

5. Have you checked your grounds by measuring the voltage differences between the ECU / s300 / USB / laptop and battery negative with the engine running? Does your laptop charger create a ground difference? All I can is tell you why you're getting the behavior you are seeing; it is up to you to fix it.

The sensor conversion is determined by the sensor unit (under 'Sensor Setup' either from the Options menu or by right clicking on the sensor in the sensor window). The unit shown in the display window does not affect the sensor conversion.

ok thanks,

i also noticed that the ect reading / refresh rate is slower or not accurate,
my car ect cruising temps are around 89-90c but when the fan turns on. with hondata it stays 89-88 deg no matter what
but in crome.ectu its coming down to 82-5 at the same conditions,

are there any more settings / sensor calibretions for ect and iat?

Make sure the cooling system is bleed and there are no bubbles. Otherwise the ECT sensor operation is the same with the s300 and any other clone system as far as I know.
