Daughter board communication error

Post by NickV »

So finished my K-Swap in my EG, k20a2. Rough Idle, bounces from 850ish to 2k.. Cant find a good Idle. But once the car is Driving under load its fine until i stop and then the idle bounces again. Vtec Is strong. No limp mode. Check engine light is daughterboard communication error. Ive disabled the IAC to see if that was the problem. Its not. Tps is good and Map is good. AIT Is brandnew. Jacked the car up and let it run for a few min to see if maybe i had air bubbles in the radiator... No air came out. Below is 2 pics. Of the battery noise from Kpro Data log. I have a used honda fit battery. I hope its just a bad battery. Also i was told i only needed 4 grounds.

1. 8g Rear of head to frame.
2. Stock Injector Ground to bottom of Mani.
3. 4g from rear of trans to frame.
4. Negative battery to frame.

Anyone have any other ideas??

Have you pulled the idle valve off and cleaned it? There's some special screws but nothing especially difficult otherwise.

The voltage problem could be the battery or resistance somewhere in the wiring, but on the ground side or on the alternator / battery side. Pull off the grounds and clean them to bare metal. Make sure there are no joins in the alternator to fuse box wire, and the connections and the fuse box are clean.

Why is the idle valve disabled?
