AEM Uego/S300 questions

Post by Foxtuning65 »

First off, I have searched and really havent found anything that used the undated software. Everything that came up was from a year or more ago and didnt really answer my questions. I know hondata recommends the PLX cause of the narrownband and wideband outputs. I got a deal on the AEM so I kept it. Anyway, I am having a couple problems.

-Is there anyway to run the newer software with just a wideband in closed loop? Like i said I searched and everything was old so I did not know if hondata came out with better software to allow this to happen. If not, I can easily plug my stock o2 back in to let the car run off both o2 sensors.
-Also, I notice in closed loop my AEM gauge bounces from like 13 to 16 and I just didnt know if that was normal or if it should bounce that much. WHen I run in open loop the car runs great and the AFR gauge stays pretty constant.

Another issue is with the data logger. When I run my car and have the laptop set for datalogging, none of the displays on it show an AFR. The AFR just sits between .96-1.00:1. So i do not know how far the gauge is off from the software. I havent removed resistors 136/138 yet but I will do so if need be. Thanks for the help.

bouncing from 13 to 16 is normal in closed loop.

Are you wired to the ELD input?

If you want to see AF instead of voltage, just hit the options tab up top, go to sensors, find AF wideband and select air fuel ratio instead of lambda.

I just hooked my AEM up to my S300 last week, so I'm still learning as well. I have not cut the resistors out yet either. Need to research that a bit more.

I'm suspecting my datalogged AF value is not linear. looks good at idle and cruising (AEM matches hondata), but at WOT, hondata shows leaner than the gauge.. so I need to figure out what's up. Maybe my scaling is off.

Thanks. I'll do that today when I get home. And as long as its normal to jump thats fine with me.

yep, and with the latest software you can also adjust the rate of change under the closed loop tab. I'll be playing with that feature myself this week. I already went from around 29mpg to 31mpg just switching from narrowband to wideband closed loop. The rate of change feature should improve that even more.

So do you run two o2 sensors or just the wideband? That was one of my questions. Thanks.

Just the AEM now. The stock O2 is still there, it's just not doing anything because it's not selected in S300. I need to remove it and plug the 2nd bung I have in my dp.
