Kpro issue

Post by intafocus »

I bought my kpro form hondata

I have a 93 del sol with wireworx Milspec harness and a k20z3 engine. I have my engine harness grounded on the valvecover stud as well as 3 solid grounds, two on the tranny, one on timing chain cover.  I can not get my kpro to recognize the ignition switching on. If I take my ecu out and manually ground e7 on my harness my main relay grounds. But the ecu will not send ground to e7. They are both grounding at a4 and a5 and my ecu fuse in the engine bay fuse box is not blown. Do you have any ideas of what it could be?    I have spent a week searching forums tracing the wires and doing the research and I still can't seem to figure it out.

You need to narrow it down. Try the ECU in a known good vehicle and see if it works then. If so, the problem is your vehicle; otherwise it is the ECU or KPro.

I am looking for someone in San Diego I can try it out on, I bought the kpro from hondata so I'm assuming they test it to make sure it's good, but ya I am looking for someone here

Is your engine harness on the valve cover itself, like one of the coil cover bolts? Or is it one one of the valve cover studs that goes into the head?

If only grounded to the valve cover, then the valve cover gasket will keep the ground from properly getting to the head and motor, i.e., not to the chassis. The ground needs to get to the head, not the valve cover. It sounds like your grounds aren't the issue, but it's worth double checking.

Have you tried contacting wireworx? They're customer service is normally really good with issues like this, and they stand by their wiring. Good luck.

If I manually ground my main relay wire igniton will turn on. I don't even have to hold it to ground if I just touch it to ground and take it off the igniton turns on but no fuel pump

You should be able to find someone in San Diego with a vehcile to try this in. Use Club RSX or K20a.org to find someone local to help you test this. This is the most effective and cost effective way to test this, and there is no danger to the other persons vehicle.

We have seen many problems with milspec harnesses especially when used with wire tucks.
