@Hondata engineers:
I am currently developing an electronically actuated valve system. This will allow individual control of every valve at any time. I am considering using Hondata as the base ecu.
What possibilities are there for tuning this? I know there are separate maps for vtec cams, however my system will have infinite valve profiles, not just two.
Valve timing and lift will be based on engine load, rpm and demand. There will be different profiles for fuel efficiency and power, and more. Eg. early intake valve closing, opening one valve more than the other to create swirl. etc.
I imagine the computer controlling the valves may have to take over certain sensors or something along those lines.
I'd like to hear your ideas and perhaps we can work together on a solution. The plan is to market the system to.major automakers, but also as an aftermarket system, as well the primary prototype will be a b18 of some sort.
cheers

Re: Infinite Valve Lift and Duration Tuning
The short answer is no, a stock ecu will not work due to the lack of camshaft timing information on a camless engine (without a timing belt, cams and distributor).
But of course, you realize that you're going to need a very sophisticated controller for the solenoids, and providing fuel and spark is the easy part of that controller.
Good luck.

What about the controller feeding the ecu said information? While yes, controlling the rest of an engine isn't that difficult compared to what I am.doing, I don't want to reinvent the wheel on ecu programming..

I am currently in the process of writing an ecu simulator in java..
any info data sheets on Honda ecus avail?
and is this something hondata would be interested in working together on?
