Anyone using this TB? & how has it worked for you?

Post by EMpowerd3 »

Per recommendation of a customer we are currently trying to run a Holley Performance 80mm TB on our dyno engine. P/N:112-510, using the TPS installed in the TB from Holley. It appears that it is wired correctly & we are seeing the TPS reading on the Hondata table read correctly (0%-100%) with the engine not running. When the engine is running the TPS reading on the Hondata table is very erratic & not correct to the TPS % we are seeing on the Dyno Controls (0%-100%). I am checking grounds currently & the wiring in general but wanted to ask if anyone else has used this product & if so what results did you see?

Thanks for any help, Elliot.

Engine Set-Up (FYI):
ERL Sleeved 89mm SD1 K24A4
Stock 99mm Stroke
12.5:1 Custom Wisecos
BC LTW Rods
ERL S2K Oil Pump
K20 Drag Cartel Head
Drag Cartel Stage 4 Cams
Hytech Header
Blox Intake Manifold
550cc RC's

Wanted to add this engine was runnng on the current set up with the exception of the TB in question. It was running on the factory K20 TB, an issue with our dyno damaged the housing(beyond repair) plus it was the most restrictive part on the set up. We were hoping for a fix & upgrade at the same time.

After some frustrating time spent on the dyno trying to get the Holley TB to work we have elected to go with something we know will work. Just installed a Skunk 2 74mm TB with the K-Tuned Billet TPS(thumbs up to K-Tuned, very nice looking piece). Both work like a charm, an adapter plate was needed to mate the S2 TB on the Blox manifold but not a big deal. We were able to get the TPS reading the same between Hondata & the Dyno's TPS reading now. The engine is broke in & ready to make some pulls. I will put up the results when we get them.
