Hondata K series newbie.... help with K100

Hi,
I currently map Apexi ECUs and others but two of my friends run 2003 and 2005 Honda CTR's here in the UK. Both have Hondata K100 ECU's and they were asking me if I can map these. I have downloaded the software and have got my head around it. As far as I know you have to map the K100 with a KPro? Is that right and if so how do they connect to each other? Is there any other issues with immobilisers etc?

I have read the user manual but not all the information I'm after is in that.

Also is it possible that the maps currently on the K100's will be password protected by the companies who mapped them? or is that not a feature of the K100?

I am looking to eventually become a mapper of the Hondata as well as currently tuning Apexi, Syvecs, Motec, MS... so any advice on how to setup to map K100's and anything else I will need to know about the KPro before I take the steps to a dealer application will be greatly appreciated.

You can only tune using a K-Pro. The K100 must be removed in order to tune with the K-Pro in place. If it is locked you will have to start tuning from scratch.

So I would have to remove the K100 from the OE ECU then fit a KPro, tune it and then... how do I get the map from the KPro on to the K100?

I imagine this is dead simple but I'm use to replacing the whole ECU so thanks for your patience.

When finished tuning you remove the K-Pro and put the k100 back in.

Oh, so the data is stored on the OE ecu not on the KPro/K100... They just make sense of the data I assume.
