P08 ECU question

Post by EGHATCH »

can i use the P08 ECU for my s200 to be installed in b16a 89-91? i already converted the harness to OBD1 and distributor is changed already as well as the 02 sensor.

I know this ought to work, but what if the P08 is for a/t? can i convert it to manual? how?

Yes it will work, and the instructions for converting it to manual are outlined in the installation manual in the downloads section of our website.

be aware there is no purge output for n2o control, but you can still use the ac.

sorry, but what does the purge output's function? can i still use the s200 feature that it automatically turns off the a/c at a certain rpm/throtlle?

also, it says in the manual "Conversion from automatic to manual

RP18 needs to be lowered in value from 2.4k ohms to 1.4k ohms." can i replace the surface mount resistors with ordinary 1/4W resistors (big ones)

the purge control solenoid is just an emissions device here in the states. it doubles as one of two n20 outputs, as well. i have many (over 50) po8 ecus and the five speeds have a jumper on rp18 and nothing on rp17 if i remember correctly. i solder a leftover resistor lead across the pads and then trim it with close-nippers.

do not try the large resistors. if you must go that route, at least use the 1/8th watt resistors.
