rpm limit

just completed a engine swap, b16a into a 89 crx. problem is ,the engine will not rev higher than 7200 rpm. ecu is a pr3, distributor is a 91, engine is a 94 jdm. any suggestion anyone.

you're using a pre-OBD computer on an OBD1 engine.

that may have something to do with it... do you have hondata?

No problem I see there. If you look at jdm 91 civic instrument clusters. redline is at 7000 or 7500

i know a few people with first gen b16 engines in their hatch using a pr3 and there rev limiter kicks in after 8000 though...

Te be sure o theexact Rev limit, use a frequency counter in the timing light to be precise.

7000 rpm is usually because the ECU thinks the engine is cold. Check the ECU's temperature sensor, and that the termostat is working etc.
