s300j no boost control?

Hi, I have a 93 dx hatch with a b16a2. I also have a jdm p72 and s300j v2. My question is if I want to turbo my car will I have to get a (US ecu and s300) for boost control or will my setup be just fine. My shop said they would highly recommend me getting the US setup another 800$ on top of what I already have paid ahhhhhh!!!!

The JDM ECU supports boost control on A17.
