Driver installed, online, ignition off

I spent all day reading and searching. I could not find a solution that worked. I just received my kpro about a week ago. Just installed it today. It's not recognizing the ignition on. I cannot upload to the ecu, but it let me upload the owner name and settings. The normal buttons for uploading and the online menu is dimmed out and unusable. I reinstalled kmanager four times, drivers install automatically. Running windows 7. USB cable was included with the kpro. The three ground wires you would look for are all there. I disconnected the negative battery terminal several times during the day.

Kpro is new from hybrid racing bought last week in September. From the info on it when I first tried to hook everything up, it was uploaded with a stock rsx base map on 9/24/12
Kmanager version 3.1.2 (I also tried the beta version once, didn't change anything so I uninstalled and went with the production version)

Is this the original ECU from your vehicle?

No. I've been driving it for two years and I had it towed to the dealer when I bought the car and bought the key from them.

I would recommend trying this ECU in a known working vehicle that has a K-Pro.

Ok I can try to install it in my EP3 to see if it connects properly but I can't upload anything because I don't know where the .kal file is for that tune. I have it somewhere but not sure where. (might have been on the laptop that's broken). Battery is dead on the EP too so that may take a few minutes to do.

Ugh. The kpro connects fine in the EP3. I can't see anything else to check on the car...
I uploaded the file needed to start the RSX. Put kpro back in RSX. no start. So the calibration is on the kpro. Something my car is doing is pissing it off.

So just for the sake of any other noobs like myself that didn't think about it, it was an ignition wire at the harness near the ECU. A friend told me to check some other wires and while under there I happened to see a black wire with yellow stripe that had been cut and soldered at one time. Previous owner of the car must have had a turbo timer or emanage or something hooked up. That wire had come apart. Stock ecu worked somehow but kpro wasn't fooled.

I should have thought about checking for voltage at ignition wires. Shout out to my friend for knowing his shit. Haha.
