s200 for Honda CRX vtec 1991 PR3 ECU - Help Please !

Post by franckcrx »

hi,
i want to buy a s200 for my car. I know i have to change to OBD1.
Except the jumper wires, do i have to buy other things to be in OBD1 ?
And you buy the S200, do you have to buy something more for it to be tunable ?
Thanks to help me, as in France they do not know anything about Hondata

You will need an OBD-1 distributor with your OBD-1 ECU.

If you want to run boost, you'll have to purchase the boost option.

If you want to tune it yourself, you'll have to purchase datalogging option, ROMeditor V3, and an EPROM burner...you'll probably also want some sort of Real time emulator. You will also need a wide band o2 sensor.

Thanks Dax. sorry if my english is not perfect.
I saw on Hondata that i have to change my ecu to a P30J (civic SIRII).
Is that right ?
When i will be in OBD1, my injectors will be ok ? as i think there is a "Peak and Hold" and "saturated" mess

No worries about your english. =D

First...let's see what your setup is. You're running a CRX with what engine? From your post topic, I see that it's VTEC. Really your engine will determine what ECU you need. Are you planning to boost?

As long as you use an OBD-1 ECU, you will either need to run P&H injectors with the resistor box, or saturated injectors and remove the resistor box. It will just be easier to use P&H injectors. Your stock injectors will work, but they only flow 240cc/min and will not do well in a boosted application.

yeah, my CRX is a VTEC. i am not planning to boost, neither in nos or turbo. i want 250 bhp in atmo.
i check on Hondata, it told me ECU P30j or P30. it is ok i have one like this in my garage.
i will have to change my distributor as you told me. The one of Delsol Vtec is ok. i will have to change my MSD distributor cap, as it is not the same.
If i get stock injector of H22 prelude, it is better ?
Thanks for your help.

H22 prelude injectors are slightly larger , so if you need more fuel, you can certainly use them. I'm not very familiar with all motor setups, and I do not know if a high horsepower all motor setup needs more fuel than stock injectors can supply. Which ever injectors you do choose though, you must tune your Hondata for them. 250 bhp all motor will be impressive. Let us know how it goes.

i will let you know, but it is going to take long. But first the S200. i look forward to have it.
You think my car can work if tomorrow i put obd1 distributor, obd1 ecu, and harness wires (obd0 to obd1) ?
