S300 +TDC

Post by jdm97r »

Hi,

I have a problem on my S300
I am checking the crank pulley with the timing light and I m finding 2deg btdc

I checked all timing marks and cam degree

When I add timing from the tables ,I can see the 16 deg on the pulley marks

Is there something I have to do in the calibration please?

Thanks

Have you used the Set Timing function from the online menu?

Step by step, how are you setting the timing?

I go online and click on set timing
Then I put the timing light on the crank pulley and check

You then need to adjust the distributor to get the desired base timing.

The distributor is all advanced already

Can it be that the cam has the distributor slot different from stock?

you need to start by making sure that the cam gears are properly alligned when the crank is at TDC on Cyl1. Many factors can be at play here: head that has been machined, improperly ground cams, adjustable cam gears out of spec or not set correctly, mismatched timing belt for block and waterpump.

Intake cam may be a bit retarded.

I have ferrea intake cam and was told that it has 5 deg btdc off

I checked all timing marks, cam gears and everything.

Is there something to do to compensate that 5 deg off the cam,?

Thanks
