Change RPM + MAP scalars possible?

Post by CivicVTi »

Is it possible to do this on ROMEditor?

not from romeditor, but you can do it in the hex code and rom editor will display the correct scalers when you open it. you will not be able to import tables or update the rom to a newer version though without fouling the scalers.

if you know what you want for scalers we can do a custom rom for you. our own tuning roms end the low cam at 5500rpm (we tune mostly 2.0L and bigger) and start the high cam at 4000rpm and evenly distribute rpm points to 9500rpm. for boost we set the load scalers much closer (every 2psi) and it takes 5 roms to tune to 3bar (too much work for customers but i like the better resolution for tuning personal cars). it does make for a near perfect tune even in the final interpolated maps.

What iif something went wrong with vtec and vtec never kicked in. I would think since you do not have a real low map, you might go lean.

Thanks

you only switch to the vtec map if the vtp confirms that the solenoid has engaged the high cam...it's nearly impossible to be on the high cam without the ecu taking its values from the high cam map. we've never had an issue after several years of hondata tuning.

another use of map scalers is to raise resolution in one area: on a super charged engine there is little need for the transitional area between wot (atmospheric presure) and full boost, but more columns could be used from say 7psi to 14psi with no need for anything above that (assuming a 3 bar map).
