Change Vtec rpm point in stock map without tuning car on dyn

Post by Tralien »

Hi,

I drive the stock P73 map on my Integra DC2. Loaded via SManager -> New

Can I change the Vtec point from 5700 rpm to e.g. 5000 rpm? I can do that for sure, question is if this stock map can handle fuel and ignition with this change. I see that in the vtec and non vtec map both values are filled from 0 til about 9000 rpm, but do you recommend to drive with this change or should I do this only when tuning the car on dyno and leave it at 5700?

thank you

The only way to know that it is a safe or effective change is to do this on the dyno under controlled conditions where you can measure power, AF and adjust timing to see if it is optimal.
