Please help - A/C Not Working - Kpro Ap1 S2000

Post by b-radg »

Hi, having some difficulty with my A/C.. everything worked just fine before Kpro ecu install.

Condenser Fan and Compressor Clutch are not turning on. Pressure switch works. Ive concluded that ECU pin A17 is not grounding the clutch relay when the a/c dash switch is pressed, because if I ground the relay at the fuse box the clutch kicks in. Ive also tested the ecu at pin A27, there is no 5 volts coming from the ecu at pin A27 where there should be. I have made no wiring alterations to the vehicle other than the hondata crank/tdc sub harness. The car is mint, 54k miles.

Im sure my calibration is good. All I did was select "s2000-ap1.kal" and all the required configurations (disable multiplexor, disable vtc, use alternate a/c switch input) were already selected/deselected, there's no cel's or climate control dtc's, so I just cant fricken figure out whats going on...

I uploaded a datalog while running, I flicked the a/c switch on and off during the log.

Any help would really be appreciated, this is one of the hottest summers we've had.

Forgot to add that Im using the latest K-Manager V3.1.2, and I've reinstalled the software and re-loaded the ecu a couple times to no avail.

The ECU VTP input used for the AC switch input is not triggering (normally 0V, it should trigger at 12V). It could be the AC switch, AC pressure switch, AC thermostat or any of the wiring between those items and the ECU.

I am having the exact same problem with my AC system down to a T. Here is my setup:

K20A2 into 94 Integra.
PRC Kpro
Downloaded version 3 of Kpro software.

Settings:
Immobilizer disabled.
Oil pressure switch disabled
Multiplexor disabled
VTP Alternate AC switch input enabled.

I know it is not the AC switch on the dash, the fans come on when the AC switch is on.
I know it is not the AC pressure switch, the fans do not come on with the pressure switch un-plugged. Plug it in, and they come back on.
It is not the relay, I switch the fan and AC compressor relays and the fans still come on using the 'AC compressor' relay.
When powering the AC clutch direct it the AC clutch activates.

The only thing I have not checked is the A17 pin that the OP mentioned. but I am sure it the same story, the ecu is not grounding the ac compressor clutch.
What does pin A27 control?

Do not disable VTEC oil pressure switch.

After reading the text below the check box it says "Note the VTEC Pressure must be disabled. The explanation in the help file says the multiplexer and VTEC pressure check should both be disabled.

So where is the VTEC pressure check in kpro? This is not he same thing as the VTEC oil pressure switch?

Try it without the VTEC oil pressure disabled.

Tried it with the oil pressure switch enabled, AC compressor clutch did not turn on. I am sure the AC switch is sending the signal so I am going to check to see if the ECU is receiving it. If not then the problem is in the wiring to the ECU.

I pulled the input to ecu and output from ecu wires and connected them together. The AC clutch engaged and disengaged off the switch. Maybe the wires are going to the wrong pin on the ECU connector? I think I have the input into E18 and I can't remember the output, I will have to check.
