Hi,
Im currently using an S300. Theres something wrong with my current ECU and I plan to move my S300 board to a new P30 ecu.
I read the installation instructions and have a couple questions.
1. Take the ECU circuit board out the ECU case.
2. De-solder IC4, install and solder in the 20 pin 74373 latch.
3. De-solder J1, install and solder the supplied jumper.
4. De-solder R54, install and solder the supplied resistor. Note: Not all ECUs require this step.
5. De-solder IC3.
6. De-solder CN2.
7. Insert the male pins (1 x 4 pin, 2 x 14 pin) into the s300, install into the ECU and solder the pins.
8. Cut J12
9. Replace the large capacitor in C14 with the supplied capacitor
1. On step 4, it says not all ECUs require this step. How do I know if I need this step?
2. On step 9, it says to replace capacitor in C14 with supplied capacitor. I would like to buy a new one. Is there a specific model of capacitor to get?
THanks!!!
Couple S300 installation questions.
Re: Couple S300 installation questions.
If there is no R54, then you do not need to do this step.
Replace it with a capacitor of the same rating.

Thanks!
So it's basically replacing that particular capacitor with an exact same one?

I bought a P30 ecu and I'm installing my S300 over to it. There is an R54 on the P30 ecu, what resistor should I replace it with? What ohms?

Socketing instructions can be found at http://www.hondata.com/s300socketing.html

Hi,
This is where I read about the R54, but it does not mention the specs of the resistor to replace it.
Cheers.
Re: Couple S300 installation questions.
Use a 1.1K ohm resistor.
