smanager stops responding after dataloging for a few seconds

Post by racepak »

hey guys,

so i updated to the newest version a few days ago,

went to tune a friends new s300, so i registered it,
made a new map uploaded it to the ecu,
when i'm trying to calibrate the tps, i enable the dataloging and 2 seconds after i press the "tps read" button, smanager stops responding and freeze, until i restart the laptop.
after i relized it will freeze if i will try to calibrate the tps, i fired up the car and it runs smooth (without the tps cal)
i turned off the engine, and tryed to cal the tps again, and it worked,
after a few mins of tuning, dataloging suddanly stops, and i need to press the datalod button again(it did it several times)
but now everytime i try to upload the map, the smanager stops responding.

i tryed this with two different s300's and it did the same,

any ideas?

thanks

What is the serial number on the s300 that is inside the ECU? From Help, About, what version of software are you using?

the car is runinng with both ecus,
since i did managed to datalog and tune for a few minutes between the glitches, i had the time to upload the map to the 20177 and it also worked,

There are no USB settings to change. You are most likely getting interference from something in the ignitions system. Are you using resistor type or non-resistor type spark plugs?

Try with a different laptop if possible and also try it in a different vehicle.

What exactly has been done to the ignition system in this vehicle?

It just started doing it out of nowhere, it was working perfectly then one day it started doing it and hasnt stopped almost like it goes into limp mode but I have no cels I attached two datalogs with the flatline and 1 good datalog(well its not good but it didnt flatline)

hey,

so i tryed pretty much everything,
i tryed different laptop. two s300's. different usb cables
and it still stops dataloging.

today i connected my laptop to the ecu and tuned it for about 30mins, everything worked kinda fine,
and suddanly it disconnecting after any change i do in the program. after a few more failed attempts on my personal laptop i tryed a different laptop.
with the other laptop i was able to connect for a few seconds and then the smanager freeze to a "not responding" mode and then returns dataloging until i do somthing else then freeze again then again then again.....

also:
when dataloging works the red light is blinking,
when the smanager is not responding nothing blinks,

also, i'm getting cel 13 when i'm getting near 0mbar with both ECU'S (baro is disabled)

Try the ECU in a different vehicle. If the problem goes away you know that it has something to do with the wiring or the ignition system in your own vehicle.

ok i found the issue, you guys will probably think i'm crazy.

i tryed this on 3 laptops and it does the same! :S

everytime i hook up the laptop to its power supply\charger hondata freeze until i dissconect the power cable, dissconect the usb cable and connect to the ecu again,

anyone else has this issue? it runs fine while not recharging

also, i noticed that when changing the values at the 2d table i dont see the "changes made" astrix at the top of the window,

Mine will freeze alot when I have the laptop plugged in to the wall outlet or a power inverter. When I run the laptop on its own battery, it runs much better.

Do not use a power invertor or anything that powers the laptop from the vehicles power supply. This can cause ground lops and cause problems.
