Is this where I start for technical help on a S300?

Post by Psillas »

Unit: S300 S/N 12782
Car/ ECU: 1992 Civic (D16Z6) /P28
ECU program: NA, stock

Problem: "upload failed please try uploading again" and "ECU did not erase"

Back ground:About 250 miles of driving after returning the car to road use CEL comes on and car will not produce power above 2000 RPM. Connected laptop to ecu to check sensors all seemed to be working. Re uploaded program to computer. The problem continued. Checked error code and none were present. Replaced with the original ECU to determine the MAP sensor was failing. Replaced the Map sensor with a 4 Bar sensor from Speedfactory. Reconnected hondata ECU. Turned on but did not start the car. The CEL light was on. Loaded the updated program for the change in MAP sensor. Started car CEL stayed on and car will not stay running. Tried "erasing ECU" function, this starts, loads the green bars to the end then displays "ECU did not erase". Tried reloading program and received the error "upload failed please try uploading again". I took several combinations or loading factory programs and erasing the ecu only to receive the same errors. As well as restarting the laptop, hondata program, disconnecting power from the ECU, and multiple USB cables. Currently the car operates with a new factory spec Map sensor and factory ECU.
The hondata system was installed by me the begging of October 2011. I may not be a professional circuit board technician, however I am a professional 12volt and home electronics installer and have been for 18 years. Soldering a board is noting new to me. This said, it does not absolve me from error. I wanted my background to be known before all conclusions were made. However I wonder why It operated properly for two months of use before these problems.
Plese let me know who I need to talk to, or what steps I need to take to contact hondata to resolve this problem.

Thank you,
Jonathan

Sorry I forgot to note:
Running the SManager 2.0.0.0. January 2012
The program asked me to update it when I first opened the program for the season.
It is also running on an XP OS

Thank you.

Try downloading the most recent beta version of software from the downloads section of our website and see if that resolves any of the problems.
