the first ecu was a p28-a54. i used a hakko 808 to desolder it. everything came out clean. then i put the socket tester i had a few lights out on the bottom. going from the bottom right in the second light is dead, the 3rd light is extremely dim and the 6th light is dead.
i desoldered the board and resoldered it again and nothing.
figured it might have something to do with being an automatic ecu.
i did a few more boards that the all tested perfect.
today i went and did a p28-ao2, when i first hooked up the tester everything was light up. when i went back and looked at it i had the exact same dead lights. wondering if this is a common problem

Re: same dead lights on 2 different ecu with s300 socket tes
ok so i am playing with this a little more and if i put the socket all the way to the top of the pins on the board everything lights up. if i push it all the way down tose same lights go out. i think it may be an issue with the socket tester

Post a picture of hte soldering on the bottom of the ECU and the Pins on top without the socket tester.
