i purchased a retro fit kit from a dealer, with an adaptor for k series coils, which i have completely installed to exact specs of the included manual. I did the sync on hondata, and when i went to fire the car up, it just turned over. so i diconnected the injectors, and then went threw the troubleshooting guide, and got as far as where it says to turn the engine over for 2 secs, and see if the sync light is flashing 1/4 to the ign light, which its not. so i doubled checked the wiring to the a22 pin of the obd1 plug.
which was correct as i had thought. for shits and giggles, since this still didnt change anything, i checked the obd2b side of the conversion harness to the b13 plug, which when routed through the conversion harness, i noticed it went to a21, no a22, should it be in a21, not a22? they are both ICM pins....???
if not, and i have my wiring done correctly, as im 99.9 percent sure i do, is there somethign else i need to do.?? Do you need to have sv2 of hondata to have this work? im using a v1, with software 2.1.1.0. im very confident in my wiring, so its getting frustrating.
if anyone can give me some understanding, or an answer id appreaciate it....
Also, Ecu already had q37 installed, in p28. car is a 99 ek hatch, oe harness, and worked mint before i started this installation.

Coil On Plug retrofit problem.. no sync light
Re: Coil On Plug retrofit problem.. no sync light
Post a picture of the inside of the ECU and we will see if it has all the correct components installed.
Re: Coil On Plug retrofit problem.. no sync light
took pictures of the ecu, i purchased this ecu from you guys a few years back.. it has had the small sticker over the plugs removed, as well as the side one on the case, so i took pictures of the numbers on the actual board, shown in the photos.
the ecu was socketed by you guys, the case has the same numbers wrote on the side, as the serial number for the s300 board. so i assume you can check the numbers and see the ecu was done by you guys, and has worked perfectly since i got it.
I got a second p06 ecu, socketed with s300, so to remove the possibiliy of ecu problem i tried it. made the calibration change, and uploaded the map, and still same problem. I tried first in pin a22, (icm wire obd1 plugs) and since it didnt work, i tried a21, which was said would work too, and still no luck... im baffled.
what wires can i remove the distrubutor? since there isnt a coil and ignitor, i pulled the coil power wire out(black yellow), and pinned the yellow wire,( harness variation b) into distributor plug. then with the green wire, I put a tapped soldiered connection in the tach signal wire(blue). and removed the *yellow/green wire as well so it wouldnt interfere.
below are the photos of the ecu, as well as one of the engine bay to see how i have the k series coils mounted using the locash retaining plate.
sorry for the late post.. got quite frustrated when a second ecu didnt work...

Double check the connection at A16 as it is what is required to get sync.
Re: Coil On Plug retrofit problem.. no sync light
after i hung the phone up from talking to you last night, i went to find my multimeter and realized i had left it at my shop, (doing coil installation at home and figured it was a basical install and wouldnt need it) so i ran to run over and grab it, and when i got back, you guys were already closed. Checking continuity between the backside of the ecu connector, and the male side of the cpr box wiring, i found contunity between all wires. leaving me to believe that none of the pins are installed incorrectly.
After checking those wires and not getting anywhere, i decided to see if maybe the harness itself it bad, so i check cont. between the coils and the cpr box, and got cont, as well as between the tach output and coil power from the cpr box, and both as well as cont.
Im getting very frustrated now, as ive spent quite a bit of money on this, and quite a bit of time, to get no where. and since im 100 percent sure the problem lies within the actually cpr box, i put my stock ignition back on the car, and not to my surprise, the car fired up instantly.
If you can give me an idea of what i should do, id appreciate it.. I personally would like to have the cpr box replaced, as that is definitely the issue. am i going to have to contact the dealer i purchased it from to have that happen?? or will you guys honor it and replace it for me? I know im goig to get stuck with shipping and duty ffs, which doesnt impress me. truthfully, im very disappointed, but i doubt i will get a refund on electrical components.
Thanks, Brandon.
