kpro issue..

Post by cmartin »

Kpro S/N: 05008194
ECU: PRB-A07 S/N 2068-706558
Kmanager: version 3.1
Car: 1990 Crx Si with k20a2, Rywire tucked milspec, and odyssey pc680 battery

Hello, I have been trying to figure out a problem I have been having with my Kpro for a week or so.
The car has been running great since I swapped it (roughly a year) but after taking it to a shop to dyno, I ran into problems. When we tried to upload a file after tuning some A/F points, the upload failed after about 5 min. when we tried to upload again kmanager read that there was an error in the bottom left corner where “online” usually is. using another laptop that error is no longer there however it now fails to recognize that the ignition is in the on position and I can no longer access the ECU.
Other info:
-Car starts runs and drives however there is noticeable idle serge and the car itself seems much less "punchy" than before
-The lights on the daughter board indicate that everything is functioning properly
-using a multi meter I found that the battery and all grounds seem to be operating as they should and everything is getting power
-after the upload error, the car sporadically will not crank or the fuel pump will not prime when key is turned and car will start then die. I replaced the Ign switch And i believe that fixed those problems

Anything else needed let me know. THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Post a picture of the inside of the ECU showing the K-Pro board...make sure it is high quality and in focus.

WOW, that is bad news however i guess it could be worse. Is there any way to tell using the ECU info and pic if that is genuine or not?

again thanks for the support.

I'm sorry hondata, i should have been more specific. I wanted to know if the ECU itself is still useable?

The ECU probably is ok (at least it is a PRB).
