2012 civic SI reflash

Post by mongoose221 »

I saw another thread regarding questions about this, but I didn't see the answer I was looking for, and thought I'd start a new thread instead of getting lost in that one (inactive since may 2nd)

first off, i owned a 2010 SI coupe, with Flashpro and a CTE supercharger. I was extremely happy with that vehicle and with the ease at which flashpro allowed my product to be retuned by others, so kudos to that.

now to the meat and potatoes:

I'm looking to purchase a 2012 SI, and will be looking into the reflash almost immediately. My question is that it states a "properly designed intake and exhaust" will be compliant with the reflash, but what does this entail?
Does this include both SRI and CAI?
Obviously Axelbacks won't cause a problem, but people are developing new HFC pipes for this car, would those interfere with the tune?
Thank you.

It really applies to the intake. With an AFM it is critical that the flow past the sensor is the same as stock, otherwise the engine will run rich and/or lean. With the 2006 Civic Si we found that some intakes gave 10:1 under full throttle, and others 14:1.
How can you tell what is a good intake? The only way is on the dyno.
